Horseshoe Bend to Montour

We will meet up in the Winco Parking Lot at 9:00 am to carpool to the Horseshoe Bend Fish Ladder, shuttle vehicles down to the take-out at Montour Road Bridge, and return to the Fish Ladder to start the trip.

This will be a ~10-mile (~3 hours) float with Class 1-2 rapids and ripples, rock gardens, and shoals separated by tranquil water. Suitable for hardshell kayaks, good/decent quality inflatable kayaks (IKs) and SUPs (if you are experienced and are ready to go 10 miles). Please do not bring flimsy, single-wall IKs. This trip is not for beginners.
Flow rate is expected to be modestly high at ~3000 CFS. Bring your lunch for a stop during the paddle.

We will unload boats and gear at the Put-in then shuttle vehicles down to the take-out at Montour Road Bridge.

**Please be courteous and cancel if you are not coming so others can attend and so we do not have to wait at the carpool location.

DIRECTIONS TO PUT-IN: North on Hwy 55. Turn RIGHT (east) on Pioneer Road (before the bridge going northbound into Horseshoe Bend) and follow the road 3/4 mile. Turn left onto dirt road for parking area (GPS: Fish Ladder Horseshoe Bend). Porta-potty is available at PUT-IN.

• Dry clothes in a dry bag or a towel to protect shuttle driver's car seats (suggested)

• 2026 Invasive Species Sticker (10 ft+) (search and purchase online)
