Discovery Park Float to the diversion Dam

Lets meet at Discovery Park at 6pm Friday Sept 4th and float towards the Diversion Dam. Discovery Park is just south of Lucky Peak. Access to the park is $7 dollars or if you have a State Idaho Parks Passport on your vehicle, the park is free. This is a 1.5 mile stretch of flat water with a slight flow towards the Diversion Dam and will last about 1 and a half hours. It is not a race just a casual float. We will watch the light slowly soften as dusk moves in to change colors of this beautiful canyon.
You will need a hardshell kayak or an inflatable kayak or a paddle board with of course a PFD Personal Flotation Device. If you decide to turn back short of the dam we will make sure we stay in teams of two to assure everyone is safe. Please let the event leader know if decide to break away from the group.
This portion of the event is optional! After the float some of us have agreed to eat at the "Lucky 13 Pub " which has the usual pub food and a wonderful outside deck. Great way to kick off the Labor day weekend!
