Circus Hammock Hike- 5 or 6 miles

About 5 miles, if we go off-trail, good sneakers or hiking boots are best here.
I LOVE this little hidden gem; it is still dry. When it rains, it floods here.

Circus Hammock - We are so lucky to have this spot, and it is impressive to find a wilderness with beautiful trees and wildlife in the middle of Sarasota. This is a Sarasota County Preserve, and it is adjacent (backside) to the Bobby Jones Golf Course.

*This entrance is off 17 Street with the DOG PARK sign. NOT THE BALLPARK entrance.

THE HIKE: Circus Hammock is a 1.5-mile loop, but we will add more (at least 3) with the cut-off trails (three cut-off trails are also beautiful) and hike ***surrounding areas to achieve more. The trail is shaded, and overall, this is a trail with many beautiful sights to see along the way.

BRING: Bring hiking boots for Circus Hammock, water, and bug spray.
ALSO: If you want to help clean up the trail, bring a bag to put it in. A pickup stick, if you have one.

MEET: At the trailhead across from the DOG PARK. Park off-road, across from the Dog Park, on the right, and pull into the grass facing the woods.
