WARNING: There are lots of big Gators at Deep Hole
NO PETS or CHILDREN are allowed on this hike!
ON WILDERNESS HIKES: You MUST be on the list to hike with us, so any guest you want to come must sign up for this meetup group on their own.

PRIVATE GATE:
You have to be there at 7:30 AM at the Myakka entrance!* The Park opens at 8:00, but there will be a line waiting, so if you are there early...it's better. DO NOT BLACK THE ENTRANCE GATE>
If you would like to go on this hike with us, Myakka Park has some strict rules. The park ranger will need some information from you!!
*Myakka requires a permit to go to the Lower Lake area... You will need to provide the following information: YOUR NAME AND LICENSE PLATE NUMBER..per car.
*The permit MUST be turned in after the hike!! We usually are able to return before noon.
ONLY 30 PEOPLE PER DAY ARE ALLOWED IN THIS AREA, SO IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU SHOW UP EARLY.. I SUGGEST 7:30 AT THE ENTRANCE SO YOU WILL GET IN LINE AS THE GATE TO THE PARK OPENS AT 8 AM. DO NOT BLOCK THE PARK ENTRANCE GATE!!! Park to the right of it.

THE HIKE:
The hike is easy, but it is about 5 miles, depending on the way we go. ROUND TRIP, you will need water and perhaps a snack. You should wear shoes you are comfortable in. It will be chilly to start, so dress accordingly, but it will be warm by our return to the vehicles.

BRING: Bring enough water and snacks for your day. And if needed, bring sunscreen, a hat, bug repellent, and anything you need to make your hike comfortable. We will take small regular breaks.

WE WILL MEET:
AT THE MAIN PARKING LOT TO THE RIGHT, JUST AFTER YOU ENTER AND PAY THE ENTRANCE FEE.
PLEASE.* PLEASE don't be late.. we can't wait for late people. We drive to a different location to begin the hike and can carpool from the main parking lot to get there.
