Terra Ceia Preserve Hike abt. 5 miles
Details
This is one of the longer loops at Terra Ceia Preserve and gives visitors a great taste of all that this beautiful preserve has to offer. Most of this park is undergoing habitat restoration to return the land to its original state before agricultural periods. There are many recreational activities to enjoy, such as kayaking, fishing, and hiking.
HIKE: abt 5 miles, maybe more.
BRING: Water, bug spray, hiking boots, possibly long pants
This is also near the area that is looking to put a LARGE SHIP PORT!!
The recent announcement that a cruise port developer is in the initial planning phase to develop a major port near the Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve has generated considerable local opposition.
Each person who is coming needs to RSVP on the meetup site to attend.
You MUST be on the list to hike with us, and you should be able to hike 6 miles or more.
General Information for all events: If it’s sunny, bring a hat, always bring water, and a snack if you like. Bug spray is always a good idea.
And yes, it always says it will rain... but it might not; that's Florida weather.
