Lovers Key Beach Hike
Details
Hey-o, let's go explore a new place for a beach hike on Lovers Key State Park: ~9.25 miles roundtrip at ~3mph+. This hike includes the trails on the key, which might get buggy, along with the beach which will be sandy. We hike with a casual friendly adventurous attitude, yet maintain a constant brisk pace.
Meet up at Parking Lot #1 at 8700 Estero Blvd. Bonita Springs, FL.
State Park opens at 8a and the entrance fee is $8.00 or pre-paid with State Park Pass.
Public restrooms available at the parking lot.
Please be prepared with all your own day-hiking supplies:
water, snacks, hat, bug repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses, etc.
It's going to be hot, so we will take a short water/snack break on the beach about half-way around our loop at Point #5 on the map.
And, please self-evaluate your ability to keep pace in the heat -- this is no joke! -- if you don't know this information about yourself, find out before you join-in. It's for your safety and the enjoyment of the group.
We do say, "hike your own hike"; so, if you fall behind or run ahead, and lose the group, then that's just way the way it is. Also, I've never been here before, so there may be some unexpected twists and turns along the way.
Optional lunch onsite, but the Concessioner food-truck is not in business; so, you will have to bring in your own lunch. The nearest Publix for PubSubs and deli goods is located five miles north at 4791 Estero Blvd, Fort Myers Beach, FL. They start serving at 730a.
Bring your beach gear if you want to relax on the beach afterwards.
Event will cancel upon inclement weather or lack of sufficient interest.
As per the management, NO GUESTS allowed; please sign up/register as a Member to participate.
