Florida Botanical Gardens Holiday Lights

Do-It-Yourself (DIY) - This is an unofficial event, posted simply to give you ideas/locations to practice photography on your own. There is no designated FCCP Organizer, thus no pre-determined meet area or person in charge. If you wish to meet up with fellow FCCP members, feel free to use the event comments area below to coordinate among yourselves. If there is enough interest or if a FCCP Org decides to lead, then the event will become official! Have fun, be safe, and remember to share your photos!

Celebrate the season at the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation's annual Holiday Lights. More than 750,000 lights will illuminate the thousands of plants and trees that already make the gardens shine year-round. Home-grown entertainers will perform nightly. Refreshments available to purchase.

This year we're trying something a little different. We'll arrive early, before sunset, and photograph some of the many flowers and plants in the botanical gardens. Then, when the sun sets at 5:37, we'll start photographing the lights. Flash is permitted.

There is a suggested donation of $10 per adult. This is a weather dependent event. Rain or high winds will cause the cancellation of this event. If you have questions, check the site about two hours before the scheduled start time for cancellation notices.

Tripods are recommended, but using higher ISO settings can be used as well. Afterwards we'll head to a local restaurant for snacks.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING PARKING
Choose from Snowflake, Poinsettia, and Green Turtle. Our Blue Heron Entrance is closed due to construction of the Majeed Discovery Garden. Parking is limited, so come early or choose to visit us on weeknights. Disabled and bus parking is available at our Green Turtle Entrance.
