Multi-shot Photo Techniques: Focus Stacking
The multiple shot technique called Focus Stacking involves taking multiple images of a subject at varied focus points, and combining them, using software, into one image that has greater depth of field than would be possible with a single exposure, even at a very small aperture. Focus Stacking is commonly used in close-up and macro photography where depth of field can be a serious issue.
The use of Adobe Photoshop for focus stacking, as well as the more specialized programs ZereneStacker and Helicon Focus will be covered. A number of newer cameras also have the ability to focus stack built directly into the camera menu,
so examples of this feature will be shown.
Successful focus stacking requires good-quality images to stack, so this class will also cover some of the basics of close-up and macro photography, including tools and techniques.
Late comers are always welcome and stay as long as your schedule permits. Please don't feel obligated to stay the whole two hours. We know your Saturday hours are valuable.
