Beginning Digital Photography

Florida Center for Creative Photography is pleased to announce the start of our Winter teaching schedule. Beginning Thursday, November 6 we launch Beginning Digital Photography at the Largo Community Center. The classes are from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Thursday nights. Class scheduled for November 27 (Thanksgiving), will be made up in early December.
Discover the art of digital photography in this four-week hands-on course designed for beginners. Learn how to master your camera’s essential functions—aperture, shutter speed, and ISO—to take stunning, creative photos. Using real-world examples and visual aids, you’ll understand how to control depth of field, motion blur, and image noise to enhance your shots. Dive into camera features like autofocus, light metering, and image stabilization, gaining the practical skills to capture sharp, vibrant images. This course combines clear instruction with creative exploration to boost your confidence and inspire your photographic journey.
This class is for photographers using digital or film and cameras with interchangeable lenses or fixed (non-removable) lenses. It is not for cellphone photographers. Cellphone classes will start in December. The class will include an optional PhotoWalk (fieldtrip) towards the end of 4 week session.
The class is presented as a PowerPoint presentation and the slides are available in pdf form for download after the class.
Coming in 2026 will be a full schedule of daytime and evening classes. We will also be offering weekend workshops covering a variety of topics.
