IN-PERSON & ONLINE: "Before You Write the First Word" with Susan Klaus

The Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of Sisters in Crime will be presenting a very special guest speaker, Susan Klaus on "Before You Write the First Word ... Consider" Advice for authors to create more successful novels at our November monthly meeting.

Location: Virtual Zoom and In-Person meeting at the Braden River Branch Library at 4915 53rd Avenue, Bradenton, Florida, with a member lunch to follow at Gecko's Grill & Pub, 7228 55th Avenue E., Bradenton, FL 34203.

Susan Klaus was born in Sarasota, Florida and had a lifelong career with animals, owning pet shops, grooming shops, and a cattery of show cats. She work for veterinarians and breed and raced thoroughbred horses for 14 years. Currently, she resides on a 40 acre farm in Myakka City, Florida and raises cattle.

She is an author of fantasy and thrillers and has been in Amazon Top 100 authors of Mystery/Romance. Tor Books released her fantasy, Flight of the Golden Harpy in 2014. It won the Silver President Award for Best Fantasy. The sequel, Flight of the Golden Harpy, Waylaid was released in 2016. Both novels won the Royal Palm Literary Award for Best Fantasy and are Amazon Bestsellers for Epic Fantasy. The last novel in the trilogy, Flight of the Golden Harpy III, Sons of Shail comes out in 2020, and won the Bronze President Award for Best Fantasy.

Secretariat Reborn, the first Florida thriller in the Christian Roberts Series, was released by Oceanview Publishing in 2013 and won the Silver President Award for Best Adult Fl Fiction and is an Amazon Bestseller. The sequel, Shark Fin Soup won the RPLA for Second Best Unpublished Thriller and the Silver Presidential Award for Best Action/Suspense. Wolf in the Crosshairs, the third novel, was released Oct. 2019. It won the International Thrill Writers award for Best First Sentence and the Bronze President Award for Best Thriller.

Klaus is pres/founder of Sarasota Authors Connection Club with over 200 members. For nine years she was the radio host for the Authors Connection Show with 18 million listeners worldwide.
