E-I-E LET'S GO!
PLEASE NOTE: this event is weather permitting.
The Donald MacDonald Campground offers a serene and picturesque retreat for nature enthusiasts and campers. Nestled along the scenic Sebastian River, this campground provides a tranquil setting with lush vegetation and abundant wildlife, perfect for those seeking a peaceful outdoor escape.
We plan to camp, hike, and kayak - weather permitting, as usual in good ol' Florida.
The campground features well-spaced campsites for tents and RVs, each equipped with picnic tables and fire rings. There are 5 electric sites with full hookups (electric, water, and sewer) and 26 primitive tent sites, some of which can accommodate small pop-up campers. *** We have already reserved a few primitive sites, each able to accommodate two tents and two vehicles. Please let me know if you're interested in securing one.
PLEASE NOTE: the sites vary in size, so if you plan to bring a pop-up camper, or a small RV, please check the site dimensions prior to booking.
Essential amenities include restrooms, hot showers, potable water, an observation boardwalk, and an RV dump station. A highlight of the campground is its access to the Sebastian River, ideal for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. A boat ramp is available for easy river access. Nature trails wind through the surrounding wilderness, offering hiking, birdwatching, and wildlife observation opportunities.
Nearby, visitors can explore Sebastian Inlet State Park, known for its beaches and fishing, or visit the historic Sebastian Fishing Museum. The town of Sebastian offers various dining and shopping options.
The campground is open year-round. Full hookup sites are $35 plus tax, and primitive sites are $25 plus tax. You will need an account to book a site online: Catalog - Indian River County Parks Recreation & Conservation or for more information, please call (772) 226-1878.
Hope to see you out there!
