an FYI - not an event but an announcement

yesterday I paddled from FL 19 takeout upstream on juniper Creek and in about 1.5 mi. upstream was a new "rapid" because of low water. this is almost a mile below the known limestone rapid. this rapid poses no problem to a downstream boater. what was interesting about this rapid was that at this water level it was perfect for mild boat surfing. it will of course wash out in normal water levels on the creek but is worth enjoying at this level. unfortunately there is no river gauge on the creek to mark this particular level. unlike the upper rapid, it was very easy to attain back to resurf it. enjoy it before the water table recharges.
