Join the Florida Trail Association’s Central Florida Chapter for a cool-season hike through Lake Proctor’s mosaic of habitats—pine flatwoods, ancient dune ridges, scrub, and lakeshore views. We’ll follow the Red Trail with a scenic detour, then climb to a sandy ridge before looping back. Expect a bit of shaded forest, but mostly full sun.

Recent high water can leave parts of the shoreline route muddy or wet; we’ll choose the best path day-of and keep a steady, social pace.

🔸 Difficulty: Easy–Moderate (firm sand and some uneven/possibly wet sections)

What to bring: 1–2 L water, sturdy closed-toe shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, snacks, sun protection, bug spray. Trekking poles helpful if trails are wet.

Trail notes: Portions of the orange/blue shoreline segments can be inundated seasonally; we’ll adjust the route to keep it safe and enjoyable.
