Join FTA for a fall stroll through Tibet-Butler Preserve which is an Orange County Park and part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail (our last FTA speaker spoke on this topic).

Tibet-Butler Preserve is a 438-acre nature preserve in Orlando managed by Orange County which protects pine flatwoods, oak hammocks and a bayhead swamp around Lake Tibet-Butler. It is also home of the Vera Carter Environmental Center which provides a variety of exhibits and displays. There is ample paved parking and we will gather at the nature center near the parking lot area, sign in for the event, and take a group photo, Please arrive in time to prepare and be ready at departure time. The hike will follow a boardwalk and trail in a loop toward the lake and totals about 2 miles.

After the hike we will visit the air-conditioned nature center that features interactive wildlife displays, historical exhibits, and live animals like baby alligators and a gopher tortoise enclosure. Our pace should be leisurely. Suggestions of items to bring are hydration, food, sunscreen, hat, and sunglasses.nBring your lunch in your backpack and we will stop and enjoy the weather.
