Dupuis Wildlife Management Area 11 or 15-Mile Hike
Details
NOTE: As the temperature and humidity start to climb, we may need to make our return at Loop 3/4 crossover for an 11-mile hike. Otherwise, we will continue on and complete all four loops for a 15-mile hike.
We will hike at a moderate pace to loop 4 campsites or Loop 3/4 crossover, where we will take a break to cool down and have a snack/lunch. After the break, we will hike back to our cars. It is going to be hot and physically challenging, but a lot of fun too.
**Expect to encounter overgrown vegetation, mud and standing water on this hike**
Let's meet at 7:00AM at the Governor's House ("Day Use Picnic Area"), which is about 1.5 miles straight on the dirt road after turning into Gate 1 and going past the Hunter's Check Point. We will start hiking no later than 7:15AM.
The hike will around 15-Mile hike of strenuous difficulty, so you know what to bring, plenty of water (3 Liters), snacks, etc. to hold you over for a day hike.
There is an option to do just a 6-Mile loop with Gloria for those that don't want to hike the 15-Mile loop, but still want to enjoy the trail.
