Details

Looking for a challenge?

Join Joe and Kelly for an exhilarating rucking event, where you'll challenge yourself with a weighted backpack, build strength and endurance, and enjoy the great outdoors while making new friends!

We meet at 7:00am at the Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area Parking Lot

(GPS 26.8524, -80.2152).

Packs on and moving no later than 7:15am.

We won't be getting our feet wet, but we will be moving at a brisk pace (3-4 MPH). For this one, we will taking a different route that keeps us on the roads so we can keep a good pace. You'll get wet, but not from the trail. So bring a towel to wipe the sweat!

The ruck will be 6 miles, so bring plenty of water (2 Liters), snacks, etc. to hold you over for the hike. You'll have an option to tap out at 4 miles if you need.

The heck is rucking?

Rucking is a form of physical exercise that involves walking or hiking with a weighted backpack (rucksack). It is derived from military training, where soldiers often carry heavy packs for long distances. The term "ruck" is short for "rucksack," which is a type of backpack.

Rucking is a full-body workout that builds strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. It is an effective way to increase calorie burn, develop functional strength, and improve posture. Rucking can be done by individuals of varying fitness levels and can be modified to suit specific training goals or needs. IE, start light and work your way up to a heavier load.
