This hike is for FTA Members only. I encourage you to become a member of the Loxahatchee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association. Go to www.floridatrail.org to sign up!

TIME CHANGE! Let's meet at 7:15 AM and start hiking no later than 7:30 AM. We start on time, so please don't be late or you will be hiking by yourself!

We will hike at a moderate pace on the Apoxee trail to the Owahee trail, skirting the alligator infested canal, stopping at the picnic table to cool down a little and have a snack and then hiking back to our cars. We will be making an approximately 7-mile loop, taking breaks as needed, but shade is very limited on this trail and it can get very hot. Bring plenty of water (2+ liters), snacks, a hat and anything else that you will need for the hike. No water, no hike! So be prepared!

The hike will be mostly on a multi-use gravel trail with very little shade, so wear comfortable shoes and a hat. There is always a possibility that you will get your feet wet and/or muddy on the Apoxee trail, so plan accordingly.

NOTE: There are limited spaces because there is limited parking. Please do not ask to be moved from the waitlist!

Items to bring:

Water - 2-3 liters
Hat
Snacks
Sunscreen
Extra pair of shoes (after hike)
Can do attitude! :)
