Walk in Pondhawk Natural Area

Details
Join Paul on a hike through this beautiful suburban natural area! Please note: do not use the natural area address as you will get lost. The parking is on the west side of the Spanish River Library.
Pondhawk NA is 79 acres that protects pine flatwoods and scrub habitats. Scrub is one of Florida's most endangered habitats. The area consists of two sandy ridges bisected by a slough that runs diagonally across the site.
A perfectly round lake, now known as Blue Lake, was dug by IBM after purchasing this property, along with another 471 acres in 1966. The City and County purchased the property in 2002.
This hike is just under 3 miles.
If you are not there by 7:20, you are late.
Please, no dogs allowed on our events (or in PBC Natural Areas).
