Herky Huffman / Bull Creek Wildlife Management Area 7 to 8-Mile Hike
Details
Join me for an interesting and beautiful hike at Bull Creek during a pause in the hunting season. This is our opportunity to safely hike this trail without worrying about hunters. We will hike at a moderate pace to the cemetery (dates back to the 1800's) for approximately 4 miles in and 4 miles out. Please note there is not a lot of shade on this hike and it can get extremely hot.
Items to bring:
Water - 3 liters or more
Walking stick
Hat
Neck fan
Snacks
Bug spray
Sunscreen
Extra pair of shoes (after hike)
Can do attitude! :)
Let's meet at 7:15AM at the entrance checkpoint (see photo) by the Hunter's Campsite (GPS coordinates 28.081209, -80.963365). Please use GPS coordinates as it is easy to get lost. Look for a tan Toyota Tundra parked just before the hunter's checkpoint (see added photo). We will then caravan to the start of the designated trail.
We will start hiking no later than 7:30AM. We start on time, so please don't be late or you will be hiking by yourself!
NOTE: If you want to bring a guest, they will have to register on Meetup and RSVP separately. Please be courteous and arrive on time.
