**This hike is going to be physically challenging.** Depending on the weather and trail conditions, we will hike at a ***moderate pace*** on the Florida Trail and take either the Red or Yellow Blazed Trail for approximately 6 or 8.5 miles, looping around to the Carpenter Camp (no shade) where we will take our break before heading back on the Florida Trail to the parking lot.

***NOTE: We should expect to encounter mud, standing water, overgrown vegetation, and snakes on this hike.*** Please keep in mind that the trails are mostly in the open, with **very little to no shade**, and a good portion of the beginning and end of the hike will be on a very uneven coral stone trail which will slow us down.

**Let's meet at 6:45 AM** at the trailhead parking lot. Restrooms are available at the rest area. We will **start hiking no later than 7:00 AM**. We start on time, so please don't be late or you will be hiking by yourself! If you want to bring a guest, they will have to register on Meetup and RSVP separately. Please do not just show up without registering.

Extra pair of shoes (after hike)

* Take I-95 or Turnpike south to I-75 West (Alligator Alley is a toll road).
* Travel west on I-75 to the **REST AREA at Mile Marker 63**.
* Exit I-75 - The trailhead parking area will be to the right of the rest area.
