Alexander Run Hike- Moderate
Details
Join us for an exceptionally scenic hike along the Loxahatchee Slough trail at Alexander Run. The route covers up to 5 miles at a moderate pace. Please note that certain sections of the trail will likely be wet, though this cannot be guaranteed. For added stability, hiking poles are recommended if you have them. Allow yourself extra time for the drive to the trailhead.
## Preparation and Gear
· Wear footwear suitable for wet conditions, as your shoes will likely get wet.
· Bring extra dry items to change into once the hike concludes and you return to your car.
· Consider bringing hiking poles for added support on potentially slippery or uneven terrain.
## Directions to Trailhead
- Take either Turnpike Exit 116 or I-95 Exit 87-B.
- Drive westbound on Indiantown Road (Route 706), passing Riverbend Park.
- Continue to the traffic light at Alexander Run (120 Ave. N) and turn left.
- Drive straight to the end of Alexander Run (approximately 2.5 miles).
- Meet the group at the trailhead.
## Restroom Recommendations
About one mile before reaching Alexander Run, on Jupiter Farms Road, there is a McDonald's located on the left. Turn left, then right into the shopping area. You may use the facilities at McDonald's or at the Publix located in the back of the parking lot.
