Morning RUCK/hike at Loxahatchee Slough 6 to 8 Miles
Details
Looking for a challenge?
Join Amy for a ruck/hike event of 6 - 8 miles where you will challenge yourself to build strength and endurance, and enjoy the great outdoors while making new friends!
I will NOT be able to allow people to leave early, so if you can't complete the entire 7-ish / 8-ish miles in 20 minute miles, this hike may not be for you.
We meet at 8:00 am at the Loxahatchee Slough Natural Area Parking Lot and start no later than 8:10 am
(GPS 26.8524, -80.2152).
The hike will be on the perimeter road, we will try to move at a brisk pace of at least 3 MPH which is a 20 minute mile. We will have 1 break at about 3 / 3.5 miles.
For those of you participating in the OTLHT backpacking event, this might be a good continuation for your training.
A weighted back pack is not necessary but will help with your training. You need to bring something to drink and a snack or I may turn you away.
What the heck is rucking?
Rucking is a form of physical exercise that involves walking or hiking with a weighted backpack (rucksack). It is derived from military training, where soldiers often carry heavy packs for long distances. The term "ruck" is short for "rucksack," which is a type of backpack.
Rucking is a full-body workout that builds strength, endurance, and cardiovascular fitness. It is an effective way to increase calorie burn, develop functional strength, and improve posture. Rucking can be done by individuals of varying fitness levels and can be modified to suit specific training goals or needs. IE, start light and work your way up to a heavier load.
