Enter gate 1 and drive to the day picnic area, the old governor house location.
This is a 10.5 mile hike
We will meet at 7:30am to sign in and plan on being ready to hike by 7:45am.
Depending on the weather, this can be a strenuous hike. Only sign up if you are used to hiking 10 miles. The trail should be in good shape but could be torn up by the hogs making it rough to hike through.
Make sure you bring plenty to drink, at least 2 liters. Bring a snack if you like. We will be taking a break along the trail at the benches. Hiking poles are helpful as there are a lot of roots and vines to trip on. It’s a good idea to bring bug spray and sunscreen.
