Hike 9 miles back to the Equestrian Campground, and back for about 9 miles of hiking. This is a great, mostly well shaded trail with old oaks. The equestrian campground is were we will take our longer break and there is a backcountry campsite about half way out we can use as a shorter rest stop out and back. Bring 2 liters of water.
