Welcome to the May Meeting of the Loxahatchee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association. We meet from 3 PM to 4:40 PM the first Saturday of the month.The meeting is very informal. We do some appreciations of past events and provide information of future hikes, etc. Our speaker this month is Amber Moore from FAU's School of Environmental Coastal and Ocean Sustainability. She will give us apresentation on the restoration of the Kissimmee River. This project which took about 20 years to complete is one of the largest and most successful river restorations in the world. In return for the use of Center's meeting room the Chapter has agreed to help feed the variuos animals at the Center. Blueberrie, sweet potatoes or squash are prefered.
