Interested in lending a hand removing an invasive plant from our trails but NOT ready to spend the night in the woods?

Then this is the hike for you.

We will meet at Dupuis WMA alongside another group heading out to the Loop 4 campsite to spend a few hours pulling the invasive Ceasar Weeds. The difference with our hike is that we will take a slightly more scenic route to get to the camp and we will be returning to your cars before 5pm.

The morning hike portion should take us about 1.5 hours or so. Depending on the group speed and trail conditions.

We will spend a few hours as a group removing the Ceasar Weeds so that they can be burned that evening.

We will stop for lunch and then do a little more Ceasar Weed removing in the afternoon.

This event is very social and generally ends up being a group hanging out chatting while they do some good for the environment.

Somewhere about 3pm or so, we will say goodbye to the overnighters and we will take a nice stroll back to the parking lot. We will be back at the vehicles by 5pm at the latest, but likely a good bit earlier.

What to bring?
Plenty of water. We prefer hikers to start out any hike with a mininum of 2 Liters of water. Food for a lunch and whatever snacks you like.
Gloves to wear for the weed pulling. Bug spray and sun protection.

The trail we will be taking will almost certainly have some portions with at least ankle deep water. So please where appropriate footwear. No waterproof shoes or boots please.

Over the past few years we have improved the campsite by having this event. Come on out and help us keep loop 4 a premium campsite.
