Come join us for our monthly Chapter Meeting. 3:00 to 3:30 is our social half hour followed by a program. The meeting ends at 4:30pm. We meet in the Okeeheelee Nature Center.
This months Presentation: Prescribed Fire Reigniting the Spark.
Come learn about the history of prescribed fire, it’s importance, and reintroduction to restore and manage our natural areas.
Harper with Palm Beach County ERM has a BS in Biology from Lovola, New Orleans, a MBA from FAU and a MS from UF. His 30 year career in ecosystem restoration and management has spanned working on restoration projects from the federal and state level of the Kissimmee River to the local Palm Beach County Natural Areas. His 20 years with Palm Beach County has taken him from managing the ecosystem restoration projects to the last 14 years as the Fire Manager organizing, facilitating and conducting prescribed burns and fuel management.
Prescribed burns always seems to be a huge topic. I’m looking forward to hearing from the expert.
