A HIKE IN ALABAMA
Details
A 7 mile hike in Alabama's Conecuh National Forest.
Hike Plan: we will hike the Blue Springs loop traill. This trail starts at open pond, passing several lakes and following five runs creek before getting to Blue Springs. After Blue Springs, the trail will move through an upland pine forest with some small creeks and then return back to Open Pond.
Bring snacks, lunch, and plenty of water.
Camping is available at the Conecuh National Forest Open Pond Campground on a first come, first serve basis. Total RV sites available: 65.
The 2026 Eastern Indigo Snake & Wildlife Festival will be held at the Open Pond Day Use Area on Friday, May 1st starting at 9:00 AM CDT. The hike is the following day, Saturday, May 2nd. LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING EVERYONE AT THE FESTIVAL AND HIKE!
