9.6 Mile Hike on the Florida Trail

This is a trail assessment point-to-point hike on the Florida Trail segments between State Road 81 and the Lafayette Creek Trailhead (J.W. Hollington Rad). The objective is to assess and record trail condition in preparation for the October 10-13 Volunteer Work Party. The location is on the Nokuse Section of the Florida Trail in Walton County on Northwest Florida Water Management District and Nokuse Plantation lands.

Hike Plan: We’ll meet at the Florida Trail / Lafayette Creek Trailhead on J.W. Hollington Road at 8:00 AM CDT. Carpool to the trail crossing on State Road 81. Then hike back to the Lafayette Creek Trailhead

Total length is approximately 9.6 miles. Anticipate wet and muddy segments, plan accordingly.

NO PETS will be permitted.

Bring plenty of water, snacks, lunch, rain gear, bug spray, sunscreen, & etc.
