Hump Day Paddle on Blackwater River
Details
Come out and enjoy a great day paddling 8 miles on the Blackwater River with the Choctawhatchee Chapter of the Florida Trail Association.
We'll be kayaking from Wilderness Landing to Bryant Bridge.
High bluffs occur in some sections where pine and cedar trees tower above paddlers. The water is coffee colored by naturally occurring tannins, the reason why Creek Indians called the river “Oka Lusa” (“black water”).
Must provide your own kayak, plenty of water and a lunch. PLEASE NOTE: Everyone MUST have a wearable type life jacket. Everyone is also REQUIRED to have a whistle.
Event Host is Keith LeFevre (850) 612-2231 and he will be happy to answer your questions.
No Pets Please.
