What to expect
Join Florida Voices for Animals for a refreshing biweekly hike/nature walk followed by vegan food and dessert in Lakeland. This series helps us:
- connect with like-minded people
- support vegan businesses
- boost physical and mental health in a fun, low-pressure way
For this outing, we’ll meet at Polk’s Nature Discovery Center and hike the Circle B Bar Reserve Trail loop. After the hike, we plan to stop at Vegetation for food and then Mimi’s Italian Ice for vegan dessert options.

We’ll hike the Circle B Bar Reserve Trail.
Distance: about 4.7 miles
Duration: about 2 hours
Pace: easy-to-moderate, with regroup points so nobody gets left behind -
Vegan food and dessert stop (around 11 AM)
After the hike, we’ll head to Vegetation for food and then to Mimi’s Italian Ice for dessert. Both are close by, roughly 10 to 15 minutes away.

Weather note
There may be light rain later in the day, but it does not currently look like it should affect the hike itself. Still, bring light rain protection just in case.
Trail note
Please note that Alligator Alley can be closed by the park at any time due to breeding activity, flooding, or other wildlife or safety concerns. If that happens, we will reroute at the park.
What to bring
Water, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, and anything you need for the weather.
