Sun Bike Ride Old Cutler Rd/Matheson Hammock Park with Lunch Stop
Details
Join us for a Sunday bike ride on Old Cutler Road. "Old Cutler Trail follows the historic Old Cutler Road through residential neighborhoods lining the original wilderness path and wagon route from the mid 1800s. Named a State Historic Highway in 1974, the route offers glimpses of some of south Florida’s incredible historic mansions." (Quote from Alltrails.com and I am going to quiz everyone to see how many read this.)
We will begin our ride in Matheson Hammock Park, riding along Old Cutler Road near Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens. We will be on the path and quiet residential streets, but mostly on the path. And, as usual, there will be plenty of photo opportunities.
Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a bike helmet, flasher for your bike, body or helmet, and bike lock if you are stopping for lunch with us.
As for parking, there are a couple of places to park.
- Head in parking right after entering the park (fills up fast)
- Beach parking, pay by phone app (bathrooms & our meeting spot)
If you end up getting one of the spots at the entrance, hang there and message in the app so we pick you up along the way.
Lunch will be on the return not far from our cars at the farmers market which has about 20 food vendors.
Hope to see you there.
Karen
