- Snorkel and Beach Day at Peanut IslandPeanut Island Shuttle Boat, Riviera Beach, FL
Join us for a day of snorkeling and beaching at Peanut Island in Riviera Beach, something our group has not done in many, many years.
"Peanut Island is an 80-acre man-made island located at the mouth of the Lake Worth Inlet in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It was created in 1918 as a result of dredging-related projects. These projects not only formed the island but also created the Lake Worth Inlet and the Port of Palm Beach. Over the years, additional dredging contributed to the island’s growth from a mere ten acres to its current size of nearly 80 acres."
There are no concessions, so bring everything you need for the day, that includes snorkel gear, towel, dry clothes, sunscreen, water, food (no alcohol allowed). In addition to snorkeling, we can stroll around the island and relax on the beach.
We will meet at 9:30 am and purchase tickets for the 10 am shuttle for the 10-minute ride to the island. Round trip shuttle tickets are $25. Shuttle leaves every 25 minutes. Last shuttle back to mainland is 5pm.
As we get closer to the date, you may be able to purchase on-line. At the moment, the only ticket sales are for the upcoming weekend. Shuttle Ticket and InfoThere is a tiki bar nearby. Maybe we can go for an early dinner and cocktail after our ride back to the mainland.
Hope to see you there!
