Peanut Island Snorkel and Beach Day

Join us for a day of snorkeling and beaching at Peanut Island in Riviera Beach, something our group has not done in many, many years.

"Peanut Island is an 80-acre man-made island located at the mouth of the Lake Worth Inlet in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It was created in 1918 as a result of dredging-related projects. These projects not only formed the island but also created the Lake Worth Inlet and the Port of Palm Beach. Over the years, additional dredging contributed to the island’s growth from a mere ten acres to its current size of nearly 80 acres."

There are no concessions, so bring everything you need for the day, that includes snorkel gear, towel, dry clothes, sunscreen, water, food (no alcohol allowed). In addition to snorkeling, we can stroll around the island and relax on the beach.

We will meet at 9:30 am and purchase tickets for the 10 am shuttle for the 10-minute ride to the island. Round trip shuttle tickets are $25. Shuttle leaves every 25 minutes. Last shuttle back to mainland is 5pm.

And, not, as we get closer to our event date, I will update the meetup. Sometimes, we can book our tickets online. At the moment, we cannot.

There is a tiki bar nearby. Maybe we can go for an early dinner and cocktail after our ride back to the mainland.

****PARKING*** There is now limited parking at this establishment due to the development in the area. You will need to pay for metered parking through an app. I have no information on parking costs. It will be best to carpool if you are joining friends.
