☁️ Let’s Talk About the Clouds

We’ve all gotten used to "the cloud."
We enjoy the convenience it offers — picking up work on any device, sharing photos with family, syncing files across platforms. It’s seamless, magical even.
But have you ever felt that small, nagging concern in the back of your mind? Something like:

- How is this service free of charge?
- If I’m not root… who is?
- Is it an AI? And if so, whose interests does it serve?
- Does it even care about me?
- What’s is it doing with my data when no one is watching?
- Could I lose access to my files… or even have them held hostage?

In this talk, we’ll explore a possible alternative:
Cloud Storage with less BigTech and less US "freedom".
Specifically, we’ll look at Hetzner’s Cloud Storage solution built on NextCloud — a compelling answer to many of the concerns above.
