Join us for Flushing Tech Workshop Hour!

Every other Saturday, we come together online to explore a new technology, programming language, tool, or idea in a fun, interactive workshop. Unlike our hackathons, where everyone builds their own projects, Workshop Hour focuses on learning together as a community.

Each session may include:

  • 🛠️ Build-along: everyone follows along while building the same thing
  • 🎤 Deep Dives: one member explains a technology they've been using
  • đź“– Code reading sessions exploring real-world projects
  • đź“° Discussions of influential papers, blog posts, and RFCs
  • ⚡ Lightning talks where members share something they've recently learned
  • 🎓 Mini workshops focused on practical skills and tools

No matter your experience level, you're welcome to join. Whether you're just getting started or have years of experience, there's always something new to learn—and someone new to learn with.

Have an idea for a workshop? We'd love to hear it! Propose or request a topic using our workshop proposal form: https://forms.gle/qgtjr7UYJCrQjYDQ7 It can be anything from a favorite programming language or framework to a tool, paper, open source project, or technology you're excited to share or explore — and you don't have to be the one leading it, though we'd love that too. You don't have to be an expert—we're building this community together. It's a great way to practice public speaking, and give back to the community, and we'll give you a shout-out on our socials!

When: Every other Saturday at 11:00 AM (online)
