eBay Motors: Accelerating with Flutter, by Larry McKenzie

In December 2018, the eBay Motors team was asked to develop a new Android and iOS experience for buying and selling vehicles on eBay. Today Larry and his team have positioned eBay among the first enterprise companies to use Flutter in a production app. Larry will discuss the challenges they faced in combining two development teams, from different backgrounds and different approaches, into one cohesive unit. He will also do a deep dive into how they built the app, including code sharing, platform integrations, automated testing, and how Flutter continues to deliver unexpected benefits.

Larry McKenzie is a technical lead on the team that built the eBay Motors app with Flutter. He started exploring mobile software engineering in 2010 when Android was an emerging technology, he joined eBay in 2015, and starting in 2019 he has been a driving force in the adoption of Flutter at eBay. Larry resides in Oregon with his wife and four legendary children.
