How I Wrote a Book on Flutter, by Barry Burd
Barry Burd is the author of Flutter for Dummies, a recent addition to the iconic "For Dummies" series of instructional books which present new topics in non-intimidating ways. Barry will give a behind-the-scenes look into what it’s like to write a book for a major publisher, how he went about learning the details of Flutter, and how he decided to structure his book to teach it to beginners. A few lucky recipients will receive a free signed copy!

How to Use RxDart to Build Clean, Extensible Flutter Apps, by David McCreary
RxDart is a powerful library that makes it easier to harness the power of streams to build your app and make sure everything is up to date using the best aspects of the observer pattern, iterator pattern, and functional programming. And once you understand how you can use RxDart, you can apply this knowledge to any of the other 17 ReactiveX programming languages! We will review the motivations of using RxDart, understand the difference between Behavior and Publish subjects, and see how to employ the most commonly used operators.

Barry Burd is a professor of Computer Science and Mathematics at Drew University. He is the author of several books in the For Dummies series, including Flutter For Dummies, Java For Dummies, and Android Application Development All-in-One For Dummies. He's written articles for InfoQ.com, AndroidAuthority.com and TheServerSide.com, and is a regular participant of Flutter NYC meetups. He's honored to have been named a Java Champion.

David McCreary has over 20 years of experience in technology in a variety of industries including automotive, finance, industrial automation, consulting, and startups. He is now a founder at SmartGroups, a Flutter app to help people learn from each other in community. David has degrees in finance and aerospace engineering.
