. This property consists of 14 natural communities that hikers and equestrian users can experience. Natural communities include the beauty of oak hammocks, the natural wonders of pine flat woods, and the mystiques of over 200 acres of forested wetlands habitat that flow water into Christmas Creek and the St. Johns River. Wildlife and plant species are plentiful. If you are quiet and looking for wildlife, you may see gopher tortoises, sandhill crane, white-tailed deer , wild turkey. Some of the unique plant species that can be observed are bear grass, cutthroat grass, pine lilies, spring lady tresses, gopher bells, and many more. Our trip leader is Beth Jackson, a Cuplet Fern Chapter, FNPS Board Member and Environmental Program Supervisor for the Green PLACE Program in Orange County. Free. Public Welcome.
