If you don't put your camera on Manual Settings, then your camera is the photographer, not you. Your camera is making all the decisions about your exposure and what your photo will look like, all you are doing is pressing the button. (Sorry you guys, but its the truth.) Even in "Priority Modes" (Aperture Priority / Shutter Priority), those are AUTO modes where the CAMERA is making the exposure choices, you are just giving it ONE variable to control, but the camera is still using the OTHER TWO variables to make the photo come out the way IT wants the photos to look.
The first step to fulfilling the promise of your creativity is learning the basics of controlling light. The three factors that control exposure are shutter, aperture, and ISO.
Come learn the delicate balance of proper exposure control. These classes will be taught with no model (but we do have a mannequin if needed). We feel it’s better to learn, concentrate, and grasp the lesson without the pressure or distraction of having a live model in front of you with expectations of getting it right.
If you can multiply and divide by two, then you can MASTER the lighting controls of your camera. It really is THAT easy, you just have to know how and why.
This class is open to people that are totally new to the concept as well as people who just need a refresher course. If you aren’t 100% confident and secure in your shutter, aperture, ISO, we encourage you to join us!
Every class we have will ALWAYS require you have a SOLID understanding of Shutter Aperture ISO, these are the basic building blocks of understanding photography, there is NO WAY AROUND having to know this. Ask any true professional photographer, they will tell you the same. So if you need to KNOW this, come and learn it now, so we can have fun with us in all the other classes/shoots/workshops we offer!
If you ever plan on using studio strobes, you need to know Manual Settings.
If you ever want to truly control what YOU create, you need to know Manual Settings.
We encourage you to bring your camera so you can learn the adjustments on your camera body and maybe take some test shots to test out the settings and see the changes for yourself.
What to bring:
Camera and Lens
Pad and pen
Light Meter (if you have one)
KNOW HOW TO PUT YOUR CAMERA AN MANUAL SETTINGS AND KNOW WHERE THE SHUTTER APERTURE AND ISO SETTINGS ARE LOCATED ON YOUR CAMERA.
Please remember the refund policy: Refunds or credits if the classes are canceled or rescheduled. Thanks everyone....hope to see you there!!
