Widgeon Creek and Widgeon Falls hike (Boat Required)

This event is subject to 2 days weather cancellation.

This paddle is very scenic and picturesque.

We will meet at Grant Narrows Park at 9 AM to set up our kayaks, canoes, SUPs, paddleboards, and boats. We launch when we are all ready.

Parking is very limited so car pooling is encouraged.

Also, there are no washroom facilities at Grant Narrows Park so make sure you use the washroom at a nearby business beforehand and bring toilet paper.

There are canoe rentals available. You can call and pay to rent a canoe.

We will paddle across Pitt River and head to Widgeon Creek Campground. The water depths in some parts of the creek can be too shallow and require you to get out of your boat and portage.

We will have lunch at the campground. The hike is approximately 2 hours with a break at the falls. You can swim at the ponds if you wish.

We will return back to Grant Narrows Park at 5-6 pm.

Let's hope the weather is nice and if it isn't, then we cancel the event with two days notice before the event.

Please bring a change of clothes, water shoes, food, water, and your own personal flotation device.

By RSVP, yes, you agree to the risks in an outside environment. The organizer is not responsible for any injury, illness or any other liabilities you acquired before, during or after the event. We do not tolerate reckless behaviour. We are a group of volunteers and not professional tour guides. As a group of friends and acquaintances, we will look after one another.

If you cancel, please be courteous and provide 48 hours cancellation notice so people in the wait list can be moved to going.

Attendance is limited to 16 people. You will be put on a wait-list, you have to answer a few questions, and depending on your answers, we may move to Going or Not Going.

Preference will be given to those people on the wait-list who have demonstrated their reliability in past events and who have their own boats.
