The weekend weather has been challenging lately with rain. Let's hope this Saturday weather forecast is dry. If not, then this hike could be cancelled with 48 hours notice or moved to Sunday. It could also be cancelled if the group size is too small, like just a few people.
There is free parking in Garry Point park or you can park in Sixth avenue between Chatham and Moncton st.
This hike is around 15 km long and might be muddy on some areas. This should be the start of mushroom blooms. We will not be foraging wild mushrooms.
Optionally, afterwards, depending on group interest, we can get a drink/food at the Good Co bar/restaurant, happy hour til-6pm.
You must wear appropriate attire, boots, rain gear (i.e. waterproof clothing) should we encounter rain. All other hiking essentials are recommended, including 2 liters of water, a change of clothing, snacks etc.
This hike will be cancelled if there's moderate or heavy rain.
The pace of this hike will be moderate (not slow not fast) - I expect this hike will take around 5 hours depending on trail and weather conditions and we will have some steps. We will stick together as a group as best we possibly can.
