What we’re about
Welcome foodies and outdoor adventurers. We are an inclusive meetup group that focuses on food and outdoor activities around MetroVancouver and beyond. Our focus is on having fun and making new friendships and growing them. There is a bit of a cost to some of our activities.
What will we do?
Kayaking, canoeing
Fishing, camping, road trips
Mostly beginner and intermediate level hikes, snowshoeing, skiing/snowboarding
Cooking outdoors and dining out
Walks and taking photos of the beautiful things in life
Other activities that will surely come out in the future
Please join us.
This is not a singles dating meetup group but respectful singles are more than welcome. Just be mindful that we do not tolerate harassment and recklessness of any sort and a single complaint can result in instant banning without recourse.
Also, no shows for restaurant reservations will be recorded. Two no shows or last minute cancellations on the same day of the restaurant reservations (same as no show) will result in expulsion without recourse.
No shows for pre-arranged carpools will be automatically removed from the group.
For potluck events, members are expected to contribute a minimal value of $10 in food. For members who participate in the potluck and don't contribute anything in value, the member will be automatically expelled from the group without recourse.

See all- Walk from VCC Clarke to Konbiniya-RobsonVCC Clark Skytrain Station, Vancouver, BC
Welk starts at VCC Clarke Stn at 11 a.m. Tuesday May 20. Here's the 9.3 km route. Afaict, there's a washroom at the 3 km mark in the Train Stn, and along the seawalk around the 7 km mark. If you NEED an actual coffee break, there's an alternate stop at the 3 km. mark in the Horton Tim's.
Welk continues along the seawalk, proceeds up Broughton or Bute, and ends up at the Konbiniya on Robson. Iirc, you can get bento bHoxes there, or deep fried Pocky burgers, or some such thing. J-snax definitely. Or we can skip all that exotic stuff and go directly to the Horton Tim's or Breka nearby.
Otoh, if we go up Bute, we end up at Urban Faire, for a slightly shorter welk, with better (imho) food.
***By RSVP, yes, you agree to the risks in an outside environment. The organizer is not responsible for any injury, illness or any other liabilities you acquired before, during or after the event. We do not tolerate reckless behaviour. We are a group of volunteers and not professional tour guides. As a group of friends and acquaintances, we will look after one another.
