Pómniv (www.pomniv.org) is an 800 mile long route from Sonoma to San Diego visiting all 21 CA Missions. As of now there are just a handful of people who have completed the entire journey of 800 miles because there is no infrastructure in place. This group will be instrumental in testing out something similar to the Camino Santiago in Spain. I'll be in the support vehicle marking the route for those 6 who are joining me. If you can get the time off you'll have an amazing adventure! Please note: You need to be able to walk at least 15 miles per day consecutively for 1 week at a minimum 3 miles per hour pace. I will be carefully screening those who want to go. You'll also need to be ok with sharing a room with other people. Men and women will be split into 2 groups of 3 per room (may need to alternate sleeping on an inflatable mattress in the room). Of course this is a Foodiker event so I will be planning some special food stops along the way. There may be a few meals out of a paper bag but that's all part of the adventure!! Since this is a dry run I only want people who will be flexible if anything happens that isn't planned.
May 1 = Drive to Sonoma
May 2 = Start at Mission San Francisco 16.3 miles
May 3 = Sonoma to Petaluma 12.9 miles
May 4 = Petaluma to Novato 13 miles
May 5 = Novato to San Rafael 10 miles
May 6 = Mission San Rafael to Saulsalito 15 miles
May 7 = Saulsalito to Mission Delores in San Francisco 22.2 Fly back on the latest plane possible so we will have the entire day to walk AND have a celebratory dinner in SF!
Cost is $525 per person for the week (paid in full prior to event & non-refundable unless someone takes your spot) not including alcohol or your flight back from San Francisco. Amount includes the ride up to Sonoma, hotels, meals (if you have any food allergies or are vegetarian PLEASE let me know ahead of time because we will probably be doing "family style" meals), and a Pómniv swag bag filled with all sorts of cool things that I haven't made yet ;-)
As mentioned in the headline this is part 1 of an 800 mile long route. If all goes smoothly I'm planning on organizing all of the other segments through Foodikers.
By agreeing to go on this walk you agree to let me put images of you on the Pómniv website for editorial and advertising purposes. There may also be a documentarian along for the ride if I can drum up any interest in that so you'll probably need to sign a waiver. This could be an historic project and you'll be a part of it!!
