Premier League Championship Sunday

Premier League "Championship Sunday" refers to the final day of the season when all 10 matches are played simultaneously. This year, it takes place on Sunday, May 25th, 2025.

We know who has won the Premier League title—congratulations, Liverpool! We know the three teams that finished in the bottom three and are therefore relegated to play in the EFL Championship next season. What we don't know is how the battle for the English allocation for the remaining European Competition places will pan out. All of this will be decided in these games on Championship Sunday!

Ten teams qualifying for Europe next season is still possible. The top five teams in the table will play in the 2024-25 Champions League, and another will qualify for that competition when Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur win the Europa League Final on Wednesday. With Crystal Palace winning the FA Cup, they are in the Europa League group stage for next season. That makes seven teams.

Another club will reach the Europa League and one will go to the Conference League, which takes the number up to nine, that's it for guarantees. Here's the tricky part - If Chelsea win the UEFA Europa Conference League final on Wednesday, May 28th, but finish in 6th or 7th place, they will qualify for the Europa League, and the Conference League spot will then move down to the 8th place team in the Premier League. Making 10 teams total. We will know if this is a possibility by the end of these games on Championship Sunday.
