Inspired by the Camino de Santiago, Footbreaks is all about active walking meetups that promote physical and mental well-being while connecting San Diego’s stunning landscapes and vibrant neighborhoods.

Stage 6 of our Walk Across San Diego kicks off in the vibrant coastal town of Solana Beach, where we’ll start our journey with ocean views and the rhythmic sounds of the waves. From there, we’ll follow the coastline into Cardiff-by-the-Sea, passing its laid-back surf spots and iconic beachside cafes. As we continue north, we’ll stroll through the heart of Encinitas, soaking in its eclectic charm, before making our way into the artsy and relaxed community of Leucadia. Our adventure ends at the sandy stretch of South Carlsbad State Beach, where we’ll take a well-earned moment to enjoy the fresh sea breeze and reflect on another inspiring stage of our walk.

Overview:

• Total distance: ~9 miles
• Path: Flat paved sidewalks & beach (your shoes will get sandy). The beach approaching South Carlsbad State Beach is layered with small rocks. Watch your step!

Starting Point:

• Solana Beach Trail Sign: Corner of Via de La Valle & Hwy 101. Located across the street from the Brigantine Restaurant: 3263 Camino del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92104

Finish Point:

• South Carlsbad State Beach Parking Lot: 2100 Carlsbad Blvd, Encinitas, CA 92024

What to bring:

FAQ's:

• Is transportation provided to/from the starting/finishing point?
• No, we recommend carpooling if you're dropping off a car at the finish/start point or using a ride share service.
• Do I have to walk the whole stage?
• Nope! If you're pressed for time or you've hit your limit, you're free to finish at any point during the walk
• Will we walk as a group?
• While we walk as a group, we understand that everyone has their own pace. Our walks are not races, so feel free to move at the speed that’s most comfortable for you. Whether you prefer a brisk pace or a more leisurely stroll, our goal is to ensure everyone enjoys the experience at their own rhythm.
