Mother's Day Leisure Paddle on Lake James

Although it is Mother's Day, if you have no plans, come join me for a 4 hour flat water kayak excursion.

We will meet at the Linville Boat Ramp access at 9:00 a.m. Please have your kayaks (no inflatable kayaks on this trip please) and other gear unloaded and ready to put in the water at 9:00 a.m.

We will set out paddling along the shoreline to a very quiet cove to start. We will hug the shoreline the entire trip up, and into, Lake James. There are quite a few larger coves we will enter into. I'd like to leisurely paddle for 2 hours in one direction, and then turn around and paddle back. Somewhere in the midst of all this paddling, we will find a place to dock on shore and take a lunch break.

Please bring your kayak, paddle, PFD, sunscreen, snacks, lunch, and plenty of water.

About a mile (give or take) prior to the boat access, there is a restroom on your left (when coming from Freedom HS). There is a large metal tree with a Fonta Flora Trail sign. Please use the facilities before the paddle if you need to.
