Lower Green - Experienced Whitewater Only

The Lower Green is definitely different since Helene and will probably continue to change as the river reinvents itself. There's a new rapid we're calling 2.999 as it looks a lot like a Class III.

DO NOT COME IN FROM SALUDA. THE SWITCHBACKS WERE DESTROYED. Come in from Mill Springs on Silver Creek Rd.

If you've run the old Lower Green, you'll still be fine. Just be aware there are some changes.

To sign up for this event you should have at least some experience with Class II rapids.

Note: The Tuxedo Hydro Station was destroyed by Helene, so the Lower Green is now natural flow (Spill over from Lake Summit). If the water level is too low, we may switch to the Tuckasegee.

We'll meet at the Fishtop put-in, unload boats & gear, then set shuttle to Big Rock Access.
