Green Knob Loop

This is a 2.4 moderate loop with 515 ft elevation gain. We will be going at a leisurely pace. Starting at Sims Pond and go up following the creek then through the pastures & back down through the woods with great views of Grandfather Mountain. There are some steep & rocky sections but it is a fun, pleasant trail. I recommend trekking poles for steep sections but I remember not needing those in my younger day.

The trail has some creek crossings so waterproof or resistant shoes are recommended. It can be muddy if there were recent rains.

Bring plenty of water & snacks. We can plan to eat somewhere in Blowing Rock on the way back if anyone would like.
