Kayak the Catawba River

Fairly easy section of the river. Most anyone with a least some paddling experience will be fine.

NOTE: This is a dam release. The start time may be adjusted depending on the release schedule.

We'll start at the North Bend Boating Access. This by-passes the Bridgewater put-in that some find a little intimidating so will be suitable for most of our members. Take out will be at Watermill Bridge.

Just under 6 miles. Expecting to spend about 2 1/2 hours on the river. With shuttle, total time around 4 hours.

Everyone will need their own boat, paddle, and PFD (vest). Also, you should have a whistle. Bring some hydration and snacks. We can stop half-way for a quick break if wanted.

If anyone is interested, we can go have a bite to eat afterwards. Several restaurant choices in the area.
